GigFrame

Privacy policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

GigFrame is built and maintained by Elizabeth Mokrusa in Québec, Canada. This policy explains how the app handles your information. GigFrame is designed to be private by default.

No data collection by the developer

I do not collect, store, transmit, or have any access to your data. Everything you enter, including client names, contact details, event logistics, photos, and documents, is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account. I have no server, and no ability to view, read, or intercept anything you save. GigFrame has no accounts and no sign-in of any kind.

iCloud sync (CloudKit)

To sync across your Apple devices, GigFrame uses Apple's CloudKit framework. Your data is stored in your personal iCloud Private Database, synced only between your devices and Apple's servers under your Apple ID. As the developer, I have zero access to this data. Apple handles that data under its own privacy policy.

Calendar

With your permission, GigFrame adds your gigs to your calendar and keeps their dates and times up to date. This happens directly on your device through Apple's Calendar; the events live in your own calendar and are never sent to me. You can revoke calendar access at any time in iOS Settings.

Camera

With your permission, GigFrame uses the camera in a few ways: to capture race-day paperwork such as parking passes and course maps directly into a gig; to scan text from signs, schedules, and briefing boards using on-device text recognition, which is copied into a note; and to power the AR Rangefinder tool, which uses the live camera feed to measure distance to the nearest surface in real time. In every case, the camera feed and anything recognized from it stay on your device, and nothing is uploaded. Photos you capture are stored only in the app's local data and your iCloud account.

Photos

When you attach an image, GigFrame uses the system photo picker. Only the images you specifically select are copied into the app. GigFrame does not request access to, or browse, your photo library.

Contacts

When you choose to import someone's details, GigFrame uses the system contact picker. Only the contact you select is read, and only its name, phone, and email are copied into an entry you own and can edit. GigFrame does not request full access to your address book, does not read your contacts in bulk, and never uploads them.

Notifications

GigFrame can schedule local reminders on your device for your gigs. These are created and delivered on your device; no reminder content is sent to me.

Home Screen and Lock Screen widget

If you add the GigFrame widget to your Home Screen or Lock Screen, it displays your next or current gig: title, time, location, and client name. This information is stored in a private container shared only between the app and the widget on your own device. It is not sent anywhere, and I have no access to it.

Sharing into GigFrame

If you use the iOS Share Sheet to send content from another app, such as a webpage or a file, into GigFrame, it is saved directly into the gig or client record you choose, on your device and in your own iCloud account, the same as anything you type manually. It is not sent to me or to any third party.

App Store analytics and crash reports

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, under Privacy & Security then Analytics & Improvements, Apple may provide me with aggregated, anonymous statistics and crash reports, such as how many devices launched the app or where it stopped working. Apple does not identify you in this information, and I cannot link it to you or to anything you store in GigFrame. You can turn this off at any time in iOS Settings.

No third parties, advertising, or tracking

GigFrame contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking SDKs. I do not sell or share your information, because I never receive it.

Data retention

Because I never receive your data, there is nothing for me to keep. Your records remain on your device and in your iCloud account for as long as you choose to keep them.

Security

Your information is protected by your device's own security and by Apple's iCloud encryption. I recommend using a passcode or Face ID and keeping iOS up to date. No system is completely secure, but because nothing is stored on a server I control, there is no central database to breach.

Children

GigFrame is a professional tool intended for adults and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone, children included, because I do not collect information at all.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under Québec's Law 25 and the EU and UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your personal information. With GigFrame those rights are already in your hands: everything is on your device and in your iCloud account, so you can view, edit, export, or delete it at any time without asking me. For information held in iCloud or by the App Store, Apple is the responsible party and you can exercise your rights through your Apple ID.

If you are in the EU or EEA and believe your rights have been infringed, you may lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. In Québec, you may contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Your control over your data

You can view, edit, or delete any record in the app at any time. Deleting a record removes it from your device and, through iCloud, from your other devices. Deleting the app removes its local data; data in your iCloud account is managed through your Apple ID.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the date shown at the top tells you when it last changed. Please review it periodically.
